It's specifically when people are not having to tip you in person.

So I found that very interesting.

Yeah, that's a really good question.

So the square data doesn't track whether tips are fluctuating because of higher prices.

But I did talk to a researcher at the Stanford Graduate School of Business who said there is research that suggests that overall maturity rates could decline if inflation continues to rise.

And we also talked to some folks who work in the restaurant industry who said they noticed people tipping a little less on menu items that were

higher priced.

So I think there's a lot more work and data to be done on this topic.

But the data is showing that inflation could definitely be the reason or one of the reasons, at least, that people are starting to shift their tipping habits.

You know, a lot of Americans right now are experiencing anxiety from another reason, which is inflation, which we've covered a lot at the Journal.

And we're seeing more data come out about how inflation is actually accelerating and expected to continue, you know, for the next several months.
