Yeah, so if the proposal is that um an animal is an organism that is conscious, then that seems plausible to me.
But just like, you know, that that something is conscious is not enough, I think.

So I I will s I don't think that plants are conscious.

And I think that there are good reasons to not think that plants are conscious.
I mean, they don't they don't have a nervous system.
They don't really seem to have anything that's structurally analogous to a nervous system, despite despite what some not super well thought out pop science pieces say.
Um, I don't I don't think there's anything like that that's present in plants.
I so I am a
skeptic of plant consciousness, but I would say even if plants
are conscious, it would be a further question whether they can occupy normatively significant conscious states.
So I don't I don't necessarily think that in fact I don't I don't.
I shouldn't do the philosopher's hedging thing.
Like I don't think that consciousness by itself
is morally significant.
