What it's like to be an electron.

So I guess we, you know, like maybe the electron is thinking deep metaphysical thoughts or something.

But then this is just kind of the problem of other minds.

So this is true with respect to all entities that we encounter.

We we were merely just gonna have to make judgments on the basis of the behavior that we perceive.

And we just we see no signs of interesting mental activity in the case of an electron.

Um, we do see signs of interesting mental activity in the case of a dog, right?

So it's just like very clear what it means to harm or benefit a dog, whereas I'm just kind of in the dark about what it means to harm.

So I think like even if I were open to the possibility that an electron could be morally significant, I just it's a total mystery to me.

So it's not really clear what I how this should change my behavior in any way.

Like maybe the electron likes being blown off or something.

Something, I don't know.

I don't know.

Maybe it's a blast.

The former, the former that yeah, we don't we don't police this term.

Yeah, okay.

So um maybe I sh I do I I f I feel less less drawn to skepticism here than you d so I mean I think there's a kind of proviso that I understand to be built into f most knowledge claims that I make, which is that I could be wrong.

But I think like in principle

I could be wrong about just about anything other than the fact that I I have conscious experience in the first place.

Right.
