Well, now I just sit back and wait and see what happens.

You know, back in the day, you were in the middle of it, so you're a little bit more involved, so to speak, with having an idea of what was going on.

But right now, you've got to just kind of

listen to the rumors, and kind of react to what happens and actually does happen.

But, you know, fun time of year.

Well, I think in your original calls, there's always a lot of interest from a lot of teams to do a lot of things.

And then as the weeks lead up to the trading deadline, you actually find out who's serious and who isn't.

And you could pretty much sniff that out about this time of the trading deadline with a little less than a week to go.

Sometimes the calls get less frequent, and hopefully they get more frequent, which means you've got a chance to do something.

But

It's kind of like a dating game.

You're trying to figure out who you get a chance with and who you don't and who you match up with and who you don't.

There's not such an urgency yet, but by the weekend, you'll start seeing some stuff really happening, I believe.

Well, I think the one problem you mentioned there is trying to win the trade.

I think that's a terrible way to go into making a trade because if you're thinking that you're just going to get the other guy

and stick him with something that doesn't work out.

Those usually don't work out.

I find the best trades are trades that are amenable between two teams.

And, you know, I always subscribe to the theories.

I never really worried about what I was giving up as long as what I was getting back was what I wanted.
