The Blue Jays dropped one last night, and that obviously has playoff audit, trade deadline implications, but also the style of loss has a lot of implication for today's game. They will wrap up a series with the Washington Nationals at 105 today. Trey Savage will take on Zach Littell. And a day after Max Scherzer went two and two-thirds in, unencouraging but not efficient outing on Monday, Shane Bieber did not get out of the first inning On Tuesday, so now the Blue Jays are in a position where I would anticipate at some point in this show, we will get news of some roster juggling to freshen up the bullpen a little bit. Seven pitchers used on Monday, a couple length guys used, a couple back-to-backs used yesterday to get through that one.

If you're looking for a positive on the pitching side in that one, but would imagine he or CJ Van Eyck or someone like that is probably getting an option down for a fresh arm in the pen. Trey Savage had been on a nice little run of giving the Blue Jays some length, but that has evaded him a little bit over his last couple starts. So maybe want a little insurance there, even with the off day. Tomorrow, again, it's a 105 game. I'll be on the radio call with Ben Schulman. I am doing very well, Blake. It sounds like you have an extremely busy day today with everything going on, jumping around from show to show.
Yeah, it's a little bit, but deadline week, what better time to do it? And it's all just talking ball. Madison, how are you feeling here a couple days out from the trade deadline? Obviously, you're a heavy preparer. There is a little bit of uncertainty around the next couple series. How are you feeling?
Yeah, I would say that uncertainty is kind of the best way to describe it at this point. You know, I keep going back and checking the standings and it feels like they're at a point where they're like, you know, 10, 12 games out of the wildcard. But then I checked again this morning and they're five and a half games out of the wildcard spot. But I do feel like you're getting to the point, of course, trade deadline coming up. But to me, you're kind of in the territory in which you need other teams to start losing for them to start gaining the ground. And that's kind of Then the area that I'd imagine the Blue Jays have been trying to avoid for the past couple of weeks is you want to be that team that's in control of your own destiny, and it's really starting to feel like they're kind of getting to the point where they need other teams to start losing.
And, yeah, you had a point in the season where you were in a hole, and it was, well, if you just win a series and win a series and win a series, you can get your way back into it. But you're at a point now where you've probably got to – bring off a bunch of wins in a row to get back firmly in the mix, just given how many teams you have to jump there. Madison, the Jays got up in this series, but a really tough one yesterday for Shane Bieber. So the Jays lose that one 8-6. Bieber does not get out of the first inning. Four earned, only one hit. It was all the issues with the walks, six walks in those two-thirds of an inning. What did you see from Bieber in this one, and how big a step backward is this for you after he had looked pretty good his last two times out?
Yeah, it's almost like two completely different outings. And after the game last night, he was talking about how he just wasn't really able to get a grip of the baseball yesterday.
