And let's just go all the way and just call it what it is, professional sports and allow them to sign contracts, two or three year contract where you get some certainty for the players and you get some certainty for the schools and for the fan bases that we know we're going to have this guy for three years.

That's why I really wanted director of sports journalism in my title and not media, because I think journalism is important, right?

We've still seen great works of journalism resulting in everything from the explosion of the.
The Jeffrey Epstein story to in sports, you know, the sale of the Washington franchise, the sale of the Phoenix Suns franchise, for example, the sale of the Carolina Panthers franchise.
You know, if you go back the last, I don't know, 10 years or so for all those franchises, multibillion dollar transactions all took place because of truths that were uncovered by journalism.
Right.
So the opportunity to those or at least one of those was Sports Illustrated with Carolina.
you're not going to see that investment in journalism from Sports Illustrated anymore.
The Washington Post and their coverage of Dan Snyder, you know, you still have, it was part news, part sports, but the Washington Post Sports Department is gone.
So I fear for the opportunity and I feel for journalism, like who is funding top-notch journalism anymore?
When the Washington Post basically kind of, A, waved its hands at Fox,
you know, weighing in on politics and holding the powerful to account in politics.
And then not long thereafter, got rid of their great all-time great sports section.
