What is the main topic discussed in this episode?
This is an iHeart Podcast. Guaranteed human. Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal, but encouraged.
Why did LIV Golf struggle to gain legitimacy in sports media?
It's the enhanced games. Some call it grotesque. Others say it's unleashing human potential. Either way, the podcast Superhuman documented it all, embedded in the games and with the athletes for a full year. Within probably 10 days, I put on 10 pounds. I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth. Listen to Superhuman on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
What made the 70s Steelers a unique dynasty in NFL history?
2%. That's the number of people who take the stairs when there is also an escalator available. I'm Michael Easter. And on my podcast, 2%, I break down the science of mental toughness, fitness, and building resilience in our strange modern world.
Put yourself through some hardships and you will come out on the other side a happier, more fulfilled, healthier person.
Listen to 2%, that's T-W-O percent, on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
How did the Dodgers' legacy evolve with international players?
On the Look Back At It podcast. 1979, that was a big moment for me. 84 was big to me. I'm Sam Jay. And I'm Alex English. Each episode, we pick a year, unpack what went down, and try to make sense of how we survived it. With our friends, fellow comedians, and favorite authors. Like Mark Lamont Hill on the 80s. 84 was a wild year.
What are the main differences between Michael Jordan and LeBron James?
I don't think there's a more important year for black people. Listen to Look Back at It on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Now, everybody over here. Oh, it's one of my other favorite places. The Twilight Gazebo.
How has NIL changed the landscape of college sports?
Sunset Gardens. Twilight Gazebo. What's next? Dead Man's Grove? Mom, could you please try to be a little bit positive about this? From Kenya Barris, the visionary creator of Black-ish, comes Big Age, an Audible original about finding your way in life's next chapter.
What are the current challenges facing sports journalism?
This audio comedy series follows a retired couple's reluctant relocation to Sunset Gardens, a Floridian senior community that is anything but relaxing. Starring comedy legends Jennifer Lewis, Cedric the Entertainer, and Nisi Nashvets. Through its blend of outrageous comedy, Key Party Anyone?, and touching revelations, Big Age explores what it means to grow older without growing old at heart. Today's show is brought to you by our presenting sponsor, American Beverage. If you think about some of the most iconic drinks in the country, the ones you grab at a barbecue, the ones you raise to celebrate your team that have been part of your story for decades, Coke, Dr. Pepper, Pepsi, there's something people don't always think about. The companies behind those brands are still making their drinks right here in the US. While there's a lot of talk about bringing manufacturing back, America's beverage companies never left. They're American companies making American products with American workers in America's hometown. So 275,000 men and women across all 50 states, real jobs, good paying jobs, the kind of jobs you can raise a family on.
So more than a hundred years, those brands have been part of everyday lives and they're still here, still investing, still operating in communities around the country. So if you care about strong local economies and companies that walk the walk, check out the good work and what they're doing at wedeliverforamerica.org.
How does J.A. Adande view the future of sports journalism?
He's the director of sports journalism at the prestigious Northwestern University of the Big Ten. Before that, Washington Post, Chicago Sun-Times, L.A. Times, J.A. Adande now has a podcast with Chuck Todd called Dynastic, where they do really deep dives on dynasties and stories. And why do these dynasties become dynasties? They did one on the 70s Steelers, which is when I sort of got introduced to the NFL. It was It was the Raiders. It was the Steelers. It was the Dolphins. It was those late West Coast Sunday games with the sun coming down in Oakland. And I think it's interesting, Jay. We've known each other for many years. Today, five minutes ago, before we started this podcast on Wednesday, Live Golf Tour is going belly up at the end of the year.
