So yeah, I think that that is true, that more people in politics now tend to be individual operators as opposed to people who are participating in what we used to call in Congress the regular order, which is how does a bill become a law?

And it's introduced, there are hearings, there are

amendments offered in committee on the floor.

There's a conference committee between the House and the Senate.

Then everything is worked out

in a structured, some messy, but structured way.

But now, no, it's more saying stuff rather than legislating.

Yeah.

Virtue was a word that was very frequently used by the, uh, our founders by the early presidents, people like, um, John Adams used it frequently.

And by that, that it meant, um, commitment to the common good, to the good of the whole, to the good of the country.

That was their idea of virtue.

And I think that one of the gifts that politics makes that religion makes to politics is the concept that, you know, you are not the center of the universe.

You are not God and your political party is not God.

God is God and everything else falls into place.

And therefore your commitment should be not just me, me, me, self, self, self.

but your commitment should be to the good of the whole, to the public good, and understanding that your political opponent is not some evil person because he or she disagrees with you, but your political appointee is a human being created by God and a person whom God loves.

Well, I think that what's missing in libertarianism is that there is a whole, which is W-H-O-L-E, whole.

that's bigger than than self.

And that, you know, the point of being alive is not just to enshrine myself or further my own cause.

It's got it's something beyond that.
