And the point of government in American government is not that, you know, it's a bunch of individual atoms sort of floating around.

But it's we

I mean, the Declaration of Independence, we hold these truths to be self-evident.

And in the Constitution, we the people.

So there's a sense of wholeness.

And I, one of the, you know, the religion, of course, can be and historically has been very divisive.

People have killed each other thinking that that's what God wants them to do.

But the root of the word religion is the same as the root of the word ligament, and that means to hold things together.

And as far as Christians are concerned, I mean, in the epistle of the Colossians, it says, in Christ all things hold together.

So holding things together, binding, is and should be the nature of religion.

And it is, when you think about it, the purpose of our constitutional structure is

How do we hold together all these diverse interests and all these diverse points of view?

How do we somehow manage to hold these together in one country where it's we and not just a bunch of individuals operating solely for themselves?

I think it'd be very hard to win a primary election, but it would be interesting to try, wouldn't it?

I mean, to have somebody run for office and say, look, something is broken in our country.

And it's not just politics that's dysfunctional, which it is, as you say.

I mean, the legislative process isn't working.

That's where something like the entitlement, Social Security, Medicare, they have to be fixed.
