He's a two-way player.
He shoots the puck.
He can find space.
I mean, any NHL team would be happy to have him, provided it's at the right price.
So that's the first thing.
So is he a fit in Montreal?
Absolutely.
And for me, I know you texted me after I tweeted this morning that I see him as a second-line center on a cup contender.
And the reason I said that is because if you look at the recent cup winners,
you know those teams that have won um you know uh have gone all the way in recent years they've had to sort of roll the dice on their second line center right if we're talking about uh sebastian ajo being carolina's undisputed number one center well they've had to shift stankhoven over which was a very risky move right with the player of his lack of stature and who was more of a winger in his early career
Or if we look at the Florida Panthers, they went and got Sam Bennett from Calgary, who was often an even worse start to his career than Wright was with Seattle.
And eventually, with the Wright line mates, Bennett became a force in the playoffs and helped that team over the top.
So I think it might be ambitious on the surface to say that Wright is going to be a second-line center on a really good team, but I honestly say...
say that I can see it because there's not that many players at his age with that level of experience and production and upside.
It's just, if we fast forward five years from now, I have no problem seeing right being, you know, the 20th best center in the league or the 40th best center in the league, which is comfortably what we're talking about in terms of being a second line center.
So he's a player that I just think
If you put him with linemates who can create time on the puck, and I think Ivan Demidov might be the perfect linemate for him, a winger who is explosive and can carry the puck and can draw defenders to him, Wright has the ability to, first of all, help out a little bit defensively, but also land in space to finish off these passing plays.
And I really see a very similar dynamic
to what we saw from Oliver Kapanen and Demidov, which is, you know, we could say that Kapanen was, you know, he had a hot stick this year.
I think he shot, what, 18% or 20%.
