But yeah, we had those conversations, I think,

early in the off season, just understanding, okay, what are we, what are we kind of looking for?

What's, what's our ideal?

You know, they spoke with me and asked, you know, what, what would you prefer and what's, what's best case scenario for you?

This is what we think.

Just like having all those conversations of,

feeling it out on our side of, you know, what we would like to do.

I think obviously there's two sides in the negotiation, so you have to understand what both sides are wanting for.

But for me, the biggest thing was just I love being in Columbus.

I've had an amazing experience in my five years there.

And for me, I wanted to

to commit to being a blue jacket so to be able to do um a multi-year deal was something we were excited about and we were definitely pushing for um so then from there it's kind of just you know between pat and don and figuring out numbers and all these things so i mean this is your first like this is your your first big one right like you look like this is a 15 million dollar deal like this is a lot of money um and there's a your first time going through it at this level

Um, that's a good question.

I think, I think for me, one of the biggest things is just patience, you know, like you never really know how the process is going to go.

Sometimes, you know, these things can get done right away.

And sometimes it takes a little bit more time, like it did in this case for us to, you know, come to an agreement.

Obviously, we did it the morning of the arbitration hearing.

yep you know i think both sides were excited to to come to the deal that we did um it's something that both sides felt good about which was great so i think you know patience is the big thing and i think for me it's just really trusting the guidance of my agents i thought they did a great job throughout of you know kind of keeping me calm and helping me to understand you know because of course there's a lot of emotions you know there's uncertainty you never know how things are going to go i thought

My agents did a great job of just helping me to understand where things were throughout the process, what we were expecting, how the team was approaching it, how we were approaching it, which helped me to be a lot more comfortable throughout it.

So I thought that was really positive, and I think that's a huge thing going forward is just really trusting their guidance.
