Mike Babcock is not going to be intimidated by any sort of market pressure in Edmonton, dealing with superstars.

McDavid and Dreisaitl are not going to run his show.

They want to be coached.

And he's handled some real big-time superstar players over the course of his coaching career.

This is not a situation... No situation is going to be foreign to him.

And again...

You know, there's never any more pressure than there is at the Olympics.

And he took a 2014 juggernaut and steered them to gold.

And in 2010, he was able to reset the hockey club after the late-time goal from an underdog U.S.

squad, again with tremendous pressure on Team Canada.

And they were able to negotiate that and win the gold medal.

I think when I look at it, and DJ Smith is, I think, kind of the ideal guy to work with Babcock in the sense that there's not many people in this game who have an unkind word to say about Babcock.

And I'll say this about Mike Babcock, you know, newsflash, you know, a successful coach can be difficult at times, very difficult and maybe unpopular with his players at times.

This is not a newsflash to me.

I'm not saying that everything he's done is right.

What I am saying is when you look around some of the most glorified coaches in the game and in other sports, you think everyone loved Bill Parcells?

All I'm saying is I think that that situation will not be a real issue.

I really do.

It's a veteran team.
