Abramovich, I think as soon as Abramovich has particularly after he has those two Premier League titles um in his second and third seasons, suddenly I think people around the world will think, oh, that looks quite fun.

I quite like to be, you know, winning the Premier League with players that I have bought, with a manager that I I have hired.

Uh what a great way to spend my billions.

And so I do think after that sudden I I don't really think there's a world in which the Shapeman's store takeover of Manchester City in two thousand eight would have happened in the same way were it not for the success of Bramovich and Chelsea.

I think that I think that one follows the other, basically.

And so if we imagine a world in which Abramovich never bought Chelsea, I genuinely don't know if we would have had the same

influx of investment into the Premier League.

I don't know if the clubs would have been as attractive as they have proven to be to outside investors with of all sorts of different motivations.

I also don't know if the Premier League would have grown in the same way.

Like would the Premier League, you know, would the Premier League even be attractive to not kind of uh you know like states and oligarchs, but even just kind of, you know, private equity investors from the US.

which is now obviously a big part of the Premier League landscape, I'm not sure because I think that Abramovich was integral to the Premier League starting to attract the best managers, attracting more of the best players, and the real kind of that kind of boost, for want of a better word, of the Premier League brand in the two thousands, that was so much down to Abramovich.

Well again, like would yeah, 'cause Abramovich was a huge benef beneficiary of the lack of regulation in the two thousands, as were Manchester City.

I don't know if UA I don't know if UEFA would have been forced to regulate in a world in which there were no there were no oligarch owners.

I suspect that it was probably in it was probably inevitable that very rich people would

would have got more involved in football at some point.

It's not like he invented the concept of very rich person buys football club.

Like that is a tail as oldest time, even if it hadn't been done quite in that way beforehand.

So I suspect that probably that would have there would have been in enough investment to trigger regulation.

But in the main, football has been quite r reluctant to regulate really through its history.
