What Abramovich could never have offered Guardiola, which Manchester City did offer him, was a complete blank slate and total power.

Like Manchester City basically I mean, if you look at the story of City, like you know, they appointed in twenty eleven, twenty twelve, they appointed uh Chiki Brigastan and Ferran Soriano, who were the people who had appointed Guardiola at Barcelona in two thousand eight in the first place, and they were given basically full range.

And a lot of money to almost rebuild the whole club in to make it perfectly ready for Guardiola so that Guardiola could come in and everything was in place for him there.

And I think that that that combination of Manchester City's money and their strategy and Guardiola, that's why Guardiola was able to have such a successful ten years at City.

I just don't think I don't think that Chelsea

Could have ever offered Guardiola that much power in the same way.

I think that if Guadiola had gone to Chelsea, he would always have been just another under pressure manager in a way that Pep wasn't at City.

Pep was never under pressure for results, I felt at City, because he was, you know, he was the strategy basically.

Whereas at Chelsea, there would always be in the sense that, oh, you're only a few games away.

So I don't think he would have been able to build in the same far sighted way at Chelsea as he did at City.

I don't think there's any reason to suspect the outcome would have been any different from his success at Chelsea.

That is to say, I think his Abramovich was successful at Chelsea because of a combination of his money, his ambition, and his ability to exploit the lack of the lack of regulation, basically the lack of pushback in English football, which meant that English football was absolutely ripe for someone like Abramovich to come in specially

Spend money, buy players and win things.

And I think if he had gone to Tottenham like sure, you know, when he Tottenham in two thousand three were in a slightly worse place than Chelsea.

I mean m maybe not financially, but in the league they'd f they generally finished around mid table in the last few years of Alan Sugar and the first two years of Eneck.

Hypothetically, if Abramovich had bought Chelsea sorry, bought Tottenham in two thousand three, I think he would have spent as much money, I think he would have attracted

Almost as many good players, maybe because they were not in the Champions League, maybe in that first window he might have struggled to get a Makalele from Real Madrid, to get uh Varon from Manchester United, to get perhaps Drogba from Marseille.

But in the main, I think that the money would have made the difference, and I think they would have got those players, got a top manager and won and won things, including the Premier.
