So I have to credit him for that part of the story.
Then the original idea came from this group called the Detection Club.
It was founded in 1930, though actually today it still exists.
It is still a real group and I have been a really big Agatha Christie fan since I was around
14 or 15 years old.
I'm currently on a mission to read every single Agatha Christie mystery ever.
And I just happened to discover, while going down a Google history rabbit hole as one does, that she had been a part of this group called The Detection Club.
The original president of it was G.K.
Chesterton, who wrote The Father Brown Mysteries.
And the original idea for the group is credited to Anthony Barclay, who was another popular writer of that period.
He would invite other crime writers over to his house to have dinner with him.
And that's where the idea kind of came from.
So it was basically a group where a bunch of popular mystery writers would get together a few times a month or a year.
And the 1930s and 1940s are known as the golden age of crime fiction because of how popular it was in that time period, particularly in Britain.
