So those combined

in my mind to have someone write a more cozy series where the main sleuth is a vicar.

And so I really wanted to make sure that we were representing all these different types of mysteries and thinking about, okay, who are the different types of people who would write different types of mysteries?

I do think when you have an initial idea for a story, one of the things that I like to do is take that initial idea

and think, okay, who are the different types of people that we would potentially have in relation to this idea?

And just write a list, the first things that come to mind, the different types of personalities that you would have,

that fit the promise of the premise.

So I wanted to make sure that even though they're all writing mysteries, they're all writing different types of mysteries.

And the types of mysteries that they're writing, they also tell you something about them because the person who writes a really cutesy, cozy is not going to be the same as somebody who writes a hard-boiled, you know, noir-esque police procedural.

Yes.

So I always have really liked reading and writing multi-POV stories.

And initially when I first started drafting this book, I was actually having a hard time with that because I was trying to figure out

you know, whose head should we be in at every particular time?

And sometimes feeling obligated to bring in a certain character, like, oh, we haven't heard from so-and-so in a while, so I should do something in their head.

But I think when you're actually writing a multi-POV story, you shouldn't put pressure on yourself to make it an even split or to follow a set formula.

It should be thinking about,

Who is the character who makes the most sense story-wise for us to have access to their thoughts at this particular moment?

And so I did sometimes have multiple POVs in one chapter, always, of course, with a clean mind.
