Okay, Jackie Short. I was born in Kingston, Ontario. I grew up in Markham, Ontario. I went to Markham District High School. I was heavily involved in sports and music.

I did the choir and then I did the musical and then I played in the band as well. I had always been interested in music. We were one of those families that sang in the car in four-part harmony. And my dad played the guitar and sang in the barbershoppers for a long, long time. And my mom sang in a kind of semi-professional choir.
