If there is a protest taking place and an ambulance needs to get in to help somebody, we escort the ambulance in.

If property damage is taking place, we deal with the property damage.

And yes, we intervene.

If there is some form of misconduct or unlawful behavior, that is part of our officers' jobs.

And obviously,

This gets very difficult when you're also trying to determine whether the conduct that is taking place is within the roles and responsibilities provided, delegated to ICE or other agencies, or if it's outside that scope of a criminal nature.

This is a very tenuous and difficult place for officers to be.

Believe it or not, they don't.

Their goal is to keep the peace.

Their goal is to keep people... So de-escalate.

Whatever it is, they're just trying to de-escalate.

Absolutely.

They try to de-escalate the situation.

They try to keep the peace.

They do not and will not cooperate with ICE.

or any federal agency on immigration enforcement work.

That's not our job.

That's not what we do.

And yeah, they're trying to keep people from getting hurt or injured.

And the way that ICE is conducting this, I'm telling you, I've never seen anything like this before.
