If you have a Calgary Public Library card, you can go to Libby and register with that card.
And then you can browse through audiobooks because that's what's relevant to this show.
And you have access to all the audiobooks that...
the Calgary Public Library has acquired.
So if I'm understanding right, and please correct me if I'm wrong, you have a limited amount of titles.
And it works essentially the same as if you had like a physical copy that was checked out and people have to return them before another user can grab them.
Is that right?
Now, are there other models as to how libraries can lend out audiobooks?
Is that the only way it's done?
Interesting.
Hoopla is an entirely different application, entirely different service than Libby.
And if I'm understanding right, it's a catalog that a library can gain access to.
And if that library has access to it, then if you're a client of that library, you can
therefore also have access to it.
So it's like instead of buying the rights to a single book, you have the rights to an entire collection of books.
Now, do Hoopla titles, is it like Libby where you can only check out one at a time?
Wow.
Okay.
And I know Libby, it's pretty popular with our listeners for getting audiobooks.
And just to be absolutely clear, it's totally free, right?
