I'd had loads of my friends trying to upsize and none of them really wanted to leave where they lived.
And I just thought, why could we not come up with a way that people could swap houses and stay in the place that they love?
Now, this all sounds very simple, but eventually, do you know what?
It's like any good marriage.
I kept saying it to my husband and he kept saying, that's not a good idea.
That's not a good idea.
And then eventually he thought about it and he was like, I've got this great idea.
And I said, that's my idea that I've been talking about for three years.
And then eventually I said, look, let's just do it.
And so very simple concept where somebody wants to downsize, somebody wants to upsize.
Everybody still wants to stay in the same place.
They swap houses and then the upsizer pays the downsizer the difference in valuations.
I know I'm like oversimplifying the process, but really and truly what I've always believed is that people love areas.
That's why they get so committed to them and they want to stay there.
And I'm just trying to find an easier way for them to be able to do that.
Yeah, I had a few of them where, look, my mom and dad, as I've said, have downsized recently and they couldn't find a house.
But I also had our neighbor across the road who really was just looking for an apartment close by and ended up like moving to Dun Laoghaire because she couldn't find something.
But just like anecdotally, all the chats that I was having with my own neighbors were like,
I want to be near the post office.
I want to be near the local supermarkets.
