You know, I don't want to leave the bridge club or the golf club.
But they didn't want the maintenance.
Like a lot of these people are living in big five bedroom houses that are too big for them.
A lot of them might be empty nesters.
Maybe their kids have left.
And I think certainly in my own parents case, they were just looking for something that was a little bit less maintenance while they're still fit and healthy to be able to move.
Well, that's it.
And I genuinely believe that that's what it should be.
Like other European countries do this.
Like some of my cousins live in Switzerland and they have a sort of a deal where, you know, the parents take the house, then the children take it on, then they move on to another community.
I just think it's going to take a little bit of a leap of faith for people to realize that there's got to be more than the traditional methods that we've always had.
Like in Ireland, we do have an obsession with owning your own property, which isn't necessarily the case in other European cities necessarily.
But I do think like for this, like this isn't born out of nothing.
It's like all these conversations where people are telling me this.
I don't want to leave.
I love my community.
I love my area.
So like if that's what we're feeling in our neighbourhoods, then the government really needs to find ways to do that.
You've seen recently that they're obviously giving bridging loans to older families to be able to allow them to do that so that they don't have the stress of moving.
