We wanted to make a movie that almost felt like yacht rock of a movie, if that makes sense.

Like I wanted it to be enjoyable.

I wanted it to be funny.

I wanted it to be easy to watch.

I didn't want any scenes where you're like, we're going to push the audience here, you know, but there's a lot, you know, the last few years of like,

what comedians have become and what comedy is.

And I'm like, I do believe it is important.

I do not believe it is like as important as it all seems right now.

I believe that comedy is just what it was for me when I was growing up.

It's a fucking great thing to turn on and be distracted and have a great hour and a half.

When I watched Cheers growing up, I wasn't like, wow, I'm really learning a lot about life in politics, either the left or the right.

Thank you for teaching me all those conspiracy theories.

Or thank you for showing me how bad everyone is.

It made me laugh.

Just a movie that you fucking turn.
