It's one thing to be able to build a glucose sensor that tracks glucose.

There's many lab experiments and papers been published on people that have done that.

But to be able to do it at scale, do it reliably and serve a global market that is this large,

It takes significant knowledge and also significant investment.

We've invested billions of dollars in our manufacturing plants around the world and our equipment and our manufacturing lines.

And the other thing is we're not stopping here.

We're going to continue to drive innovation across the entire product portfolio, which also includes how we manufacture sensors.

And over time, we've actually been able to bring the price of sensors and the cost of sensors down

Based on that experience and that scale and designing, you know, for lower cost sensors, in the beginning it was all about just making a sensor work reliably.

Now it's about that, improving that, but also continuing to enhance our ability to manufacture more sensors at a cost profile that makes it more accessible for more patients around the world.

Yeah, it requires a number of things.

And one of them is just the sheer volume and scale that you operate at and the efficiencies you can get by doing that.

And also a big part of those, how you manufacture the sensors, the overhead required, how fast your lines can produce sensors, how much square footage, how much factory space basically it takes to be able to make sensors.

And all of that over our many different generations.

I mean, our original sensors, there was a lot of very manual hand operation.

We actually had a clean room with an army of operators building these almost like handcrafted sensors in the very early days.

We now have these automated systems

that are producing tens of millions of sensors per year.

And we're going to continue to innovate on those because every time you launch a new technology or you develop a new technology, you learn from it.

And that's what Dexcom is all about, this continuous learning and continuous improvement.
