And it wasn't like he was some can't miss prospect.
So there does seem to just be like a blind spot that maybe kind of old school basketball people, somebody, people just keep missing on Halliburton.
I mean, he gets these votes even today.
A couple of years ago, this overrated play, even, you know, in some smattering of some votes as well in that overrated player poll, which I know doesn't have a huge sample size.
But, you know, I think it was the as I outlined the process that really frustrated staffers of of.
You know, not really feeling like they were being heard.
It's a doubling down, of course, that really like, you know, to then three or four years later to sign Patrick to an extension, give him a player option, like all of those things that I think were the most because people have draft misses, misses all the time, but sort of not being willing to acknowledge and admit and pivot off that mistake.
um, and really sort of, you know, handing out a contract that just doesn't really make sense.
And that, you know, when against like the bulls have, you know, analytics teams and people that sort of produce, uh, projections for what a player value and worth would be in it.
And that contract, as we saw some other ones, like when against what the own internal team was sort of crafting.
Um, but I would also point people on the Halliburton miss, um,
to a story that I wrote, I want to say around December as well of this past season, November, December, about the Bulls.
And you guys may remember it.
I wrote a story about the Bulls sort of mirroring the Indiana Pacers and how that was sort of their roadmap of playing fast.
And they were talking about maybe we can get our Siakam.
And I would encourage people to read that and read the sentiments of that regime and how they felt
essentially that Tyrese Halliburton, even after going to the finals, was not an A1 star.
And you could sort of replicate with a bunch of, you know, kind of ensemble cast and B-plus pieces and such.
I just would, you know, you can read the sentiment of Halliburton there and see that.
