Oh, it's so disappointing to see comments online saying, oh, they found out.
Everyone found out, you know.
thanks for doing your duty and voting against your interest.
And I always push back and I say, look, we're out here.
We're not all voting a certain direction.
We're all trying to make a living.
And just because they voted against their interest doesn't mean they didn't have a reason to vote that way to begin with.
But we're all trying to move forward as a country and as a community.
and make things work for everyone.
So I think we need to have a little grace when we see that people have voted against their interests and are currently finding out because they're hurting just like everybody else.
Well, and as an aspiring full-time farmer, I'm constantly thinking about, okay, how can my farming, what can I do to increase my profits on the farm?
We're getting prices that are the same prices that the farmers were getting back in the 70s.
We was in the in the $4 range back in the 70s.
Are you kidding me?
It's still in the $4 a bushel range now.
And you think about the equipment costs where
you could buy a brand new tractor for 12 to $14,000 back then.
And that was, that was the base level tractor that you needed to make things happen on the farm.
Well, now we've got these new tractors with new technology and it's, it's really great, but the, the price per bushel hasn't increased.
And those, those tractors go for 150 to $200,000 a piece.
