Probably more offseason or next year, but who knows if the right thing comes along this July.
So Schultz hasn't had a start in about three weeks.
He wound up throwing three bullpens in this meantime, one where he experienced soreness and kind of had to, like, pause it for a second, then two more recently that have gone fine.
So I think it's based on, like, how good he feels and how stretched out he gets.
Is that, like, a one- or two-start situation?
And that enters kind of an interesting picture of, like,
Do they try to get through a bullpen game one turn through the rotation and not fill this empty fifth starter slot?
Do they just kind of wait for Schultz to come back?
Do they need to call someone up in between?
Who do you call up when Higgins missed last outing and wasn't so good?
David Sandlin just pitched pretty well, but you have 15 days or an injury to bring him back up.
So there's some guesstimation there.
Teal...
you know he's once again like he went through another period where you know he was shut down for a while because he couldn't hit with the knee because that's how the injury happened i would think you'd have to see him play a full week there and usually it's a slow build up to um you know five innings and seven innings and one in the game where he dhs and you they would probably not call him back until he did back-to-back nine innings catching maybe a little sooner uh depending on like
the way the logistics go but i would think you you're looking for a week week and a half of someone like kyle teal uh you know playing with charlotte so it's not like this immediate oh you you put them on a rehab as you know it's this like warm post-game news that you're getting this and you assume that like the next time they come back home um they'll both be back maybe uh but it's certainly like a big step in terms of the rotation is like this conundrum that they're trying to figure out series of series right now and
catching right now like i don't know i think they got four hits from the catching position this month so far and the idea of getting kyle teal back and that kind of offensive boost if he's anywhere near like the hitter that he was uh last season for an offense that's already banging that's that's obviously like this another thing that makes us feel like more sustainable the idea that you're getting these reinforcements james were you in the ballpark on saturday for the for the yoshi yamamoto near perfecto
Yeah, I mean, there's always, especially when the Dodgers come to town, I feel like it's less than previous years.
I was talking about this on our podcast last night.
It wasn't...
There's no reason to come to this park because it's just dominated by Dodgers fans.
