You know, they certainly hit hard on the idea like, well, he didn't really like piggybacking with the Mariners and things stabilized a bit after that.

But it's still the lowest strikeout rate of his career.

It's still like seeing a slider with rate like way down from the year before.

There's got to be.

And I think it's inherent with any trade right now in 2026 baseball.

There's some sort of tweak development plan that you put in place to get this guy back to where he's been, where he was like a mid three starter for 180 and it's just the previous year.

And, you know, obviously in the past he's had, you know, one of the best changes in the sport and now it's kind of this disenforced pitch.

I don't know how recoverable that is, but.

You've got to have at least some kind of measure to what can get him back in the form.

It just felt like certainly being around the team yesterday and probably like maybe even a week or two into like really him being here, maybe even farther out than that, that it's going to come into shape over time.

Yeah, it kind of feels like some moves are going to have to bounce around, like because if anything, they have they had a crunch of right handed outfielders that was coming before this.

You know, Doyle certainly for like one, the Sox, if they're well above average for outfield defense in terms of outfield outs above average defense.

as an outfield group.

But you had some Pereira kind of filling this role of right-handed guy who can fill in center field.

You had Luis Angel Acuna doing that before.

He certainly hasn't played outfield in a while, and is now more the backup shortstop and pinch runner sort of dude.

But you had also Austin Hayes, who isn't a center field option the way Doyle is, but is another bat that was due for his rehab assignment to just expire at a certain point.

So with them still wanting catching, still wanting starting pitching, you kind of figure, like, all right, there's got to be some moves still in place that probably involve pulling away from this group to some degree to really make this make sense.

Like, the baseline idea of, like, plus fielding center fielder, multiple years of control, yeah, that sounds like a move that, you know, the Chris Getz front office that, you know, talks about defense so much, defensive flexibility would be into, and, you know, you could –

You know, him being right handed, you could kind of pair him with or split time with Tristan Peters to a degree who hasn't started a bunch against left handed pitching.
