Hi Bromman.
China is really moving fast and breaking things on this one.
It's absolutely extraordinary.
I would say when it comes to the main topic as to whether or not this is a bubble, whether or not the AI boom is gonna flame out, I would say that it's very difficult to call.
But one thing is really clear and that that is that in my view, China has adopted a leaner, fitter model than we can see coming out of the United States.
It won't come as a surprise to anyone that China's found a way to do things more cheaply and just as quickly as the United States.
And this is because of structural advantages that China has.
Obviously, the cost of intellectual talent in China is much lower.
The way in which electricity, which is very cheap in China, is feeding into these data centers means that the cost of running those data centers in China that train
The LLM models is a lot cheaper.
The way in which the models themselves in China are designed is cheaper than most of the American models.
And so what we've ended up with is Chinese models that are close to the cutting edge, not quite at the cutting edge, not quite as good as the American models, but getting close.
But the cost of operating those models is literally.
A fraction of what it is for the American models.
And the other thing about the Chinese models is they're mostly open weight, which means they can be downloaded and adopted all over the world and purposed by their users.
And so therefore they're gaining a really big following around the world, especially in the global south.
So China's come up with a very different model from the United States.
This is pre-planned.
And I would say it's a leaner, fitter model than the US.
It certainly is a big competitive challenge to the big American companies, Anthropic, OpenAI, et cetera, because people can see.
