The S P five hundred was uh more or less flat and the Nasdaq, as we mentioned, uh added a half of one percent.
We know tech outperformed, but what else can you tell us about the US session, James?
Well, European shares, they edged higher as well.
We had the FTSE Euro First 300 index up 0.1 of a percent.
The UK FTSE 100 though did slip 0.3 of 1%.
So uh broad European markets were mostly higher.
Investors continued to watch, of course, those developments uh between the US and Iran and how that could influence oil prices and obviously risk appetite as well.
We did see most uh second
On the stock 600 advancing.
That was led by the retailers, which certainly posted their biggest one-day gain since April, uh, earlier in April this year.
Uh, the rise was really largely powered by a 12.5% or near 12.5% jump in Kingfisher after the home improvement retailer raised its four-year profit guidance.
Tech stocks also gained, uh, taking cues from the US network.
Nasdaq and there were certainly broader gains, certainly capped though, uh by a one percent fall in banking stocks.
Let's take a look at what's on the watch list in Australia.
Companies making dividend payments include Regis Healthcare, Smart Group, Contact Energy, Santos, BHP, Horizon, and Australian Clinical Labs.
A couple of companies also training X dividends, such as Genesis Energy, IPD Group, and St.
Barbara.
And Tours is also due to report earnings a little bit later today.
Over in the US, it'll be weekly jobless claims and also new homes.
