Darren Drager reporting today that the Canucks continue to have discussions and negotiations with the Montreal Canadiens about Brendan Gallagher.

Now, he also says if they can't do a deal, the Habs might consider simply buying Brendan Gallagher out, which would surprise me.

He also says option A is a trade between the Canadians and the Canucks.

And of course, part of this, Drancer, is given Gallagher's status in Montreal and what he's meant to that team.

There's a desire to do right by him, send him to somewhere, even though he doesn't have that

trade protection I think it's only a 16 no trade clause that he has they still want to send him somewhere he's going to be excited to go and obviously Vancouver checks that box I'd be pretty surprised if it got to a buyout it feels like this is kind of just you know it's going to happen

I don't want to guarantee it or anything.

It feels like it's going to happen.

We're just waiting to see what the exact shape of it's going to be.

Rick Dollywall on Donnie and Dolly today says Vancouver is open.

He's hearing Vancouver is open to anything when it comes to veterans.

Not Filip Pronik, at least not yet.

And Dhaliwal says Pettersson's name is out there big time, but notes that his agents haven't been contacted.

Of course, Pettersson would have to waive if any trade was going to happen.

And finally, Rick Dhaliwal reporting yesterday that Teddy Bluger and Derek Forbert will hit free agency, will not sign with the Canucks before Friday.
