online today I did just want to touch on a few other notes from Elliot Friedman and we brought up the report earlier in the show from 32 thoughts that as he said pretty much all of the Canucks scouting staff is out of contract at the end of the year and there's a lot of uncertainty
about what might happen to those folks.
And he also said, you know, that has led some people to believe that there could be bigger changes coming now on Donnie and Dolly today with our pals, Don Taylor and, and Rick Dolly.
Well, of course he was asked about that and he did say, and he made the point about, you know, usually when the top decision maker goes, well, not, not usually under Aquilini, the Aquilini ownership, when the Canucks have fired their top hockey ops decision maker, they've always had the replacement waiting in the wings, right?
When Dave Nonos was fired, Mike Gillis was there, Gillis, Linden, et cetera.
all the way up to Benning being fired and Jim Rutherford taking over.
And as Elliot Freeman said, he sees no reason to believe that there's anyone waiting in the wings to take over from Jim Rutherford.
Now, that doesn't mean that there couldn't be other changes, just that as we've come to expect, and I know you've been on this wavelength, everyone pretty much has, there doesn't seem to be any specific reason other than the inherent...
Basically, the only possibility we should be allowing for that Rutherford might be out is like the inherent chaotic nature of the universe.
Right.
Well, and... Unexpected things could always happen.
A lot of nonsense, a lot of messiness.
Well, and I always come back to...
Because we talk about it with the GM in the front office, right, that they need to have the replacement ready to go instead of doing the search, and that drives me nuts.
