But even I think back to when they fired Bruce Boudreaux midseason.
And instead of letting him go at a certain point and having Mike Yeo as an interim coach until you could get things lined up with Rick Tockett, we saw how it played out.
And even there, there seemed to be this deep reluctance to do an interim anything, even though it's very much standard practice around the NHL.
And we've seen it a bunch already, right?
Teams getting the drop on or getting the jump on moving on from key people and being willing to do a search, have interns in place.
And for whatever reason, it's just never been part of this ownership's practice, which, again, is baffling to me.
And I don't think we've ever really fully understood why.

The other thing I just want, just on the discussion about, I'm sorry, the scouting staff.
I mean it, though.
removing it from the big picture thing about how the organization does business, which I think is a totally valid point, does the fact that there is that uncertainty lingering over the scouting staff tell you anything about the likelihood of changes beyond other than Rutherford?
Does it tell you anything about the likelihood that they could be moving on from Patrick Alvien?
Because it could be as simple as Rutherford and Alvien are staying, but they want to hire new scouts, or it could be...
We're going to let a new general manager decide what to do with this.
Mm-hmm.
