I'm sure there's Red Wings fans who debate like is Larkin a first line center.
It's like he clearly is a first line center.
But I think sometimes we have this problem where.
Are you talking about is he a first line center or do you mean is he a first line center on a Stanley Cup winning team?
And those are very different things because Dylan Larkin is undeniably a first line center.
But if he's your first line center, the rest of your team has to be absolutely stacked if you're going to win the Stanley Cup.
I think Dylan Larkin's a better player than Bo Horvat, but kind of similar to the Bo Horvat conversation.
Bo Horvat, is he one of the top 32 centers in the NHL?
You're also not winning the Stanley Cup with Bo Horvat as your first-line center.
And so we get into this kind of weird distinction because there's no doubt about it.
He is a first-line center, but I can also understand why Detroit fans would look at it and say, well, that's a spot we need to upgrade.
Now, the player type I'm describing, that is ideal if you are...
a Stanley Cup contending team who already has a no doubt bona fide stud at number one and needs an elite second line center.
And I know people have brought up Florida as an example, right?
Can you move Sam Bennett to the wing and bring in Dylan Larkin behind Barkov?
I think that would make a ton of sense for them.
I know Minnesota would be bringing him in to be more the first line center.
I've heard Vegas's name was thrown out there.
Those are the class of teams that I would be looking at more than anything, though.
