Could be Aiden Fox who works in their analytics department.
Maybe it's someone else that we don't know as much about.
It's entirely possible that the level of creativity...
and strategy that I'm talking about can come internally from internal growth from somebody already there stepping up and taking on more of a role and kind of spreading their wings a little bit in the Canucks front office.
And finally, it's worth noting, I thought this was very interesting on Twitter, Steve Werrier, who of course former Florida Panthers AGM now does some work with Puckpedia,
and some other places as well.
He had this to say on Twitter about the Richard Seeley hire.
He says, years ago in Florida, we did a lot of interviews for an AHL head coach opening.
One candidate from the ECHL stood out to our younger AGMs and analytics team for his innovative and progressive approach.
He was our number one choice.
He was going places.
It was Richard Seeley.
So again, that's from somebody who was working in an AGM capacity in Florida
interviewed Richard Seeley or was part of the interview process with Richard Seeley at that time for an AHL head coach job and he came away not just generally very impressed with Richard Seeley but specifically impressed by his innovative and progressive approach and so again I don't want to close the door on Richard Seeley being a big part of that creativity that's absolutely possible that he that's something that he could bring to bear in this Canucks organization as well so again
this probably would have been the profile of a hire I would have made if I could list my preferences right one two three how who do I want to see them add or what type of person do I want to see them add but hearing what we've heard so far about Richard Seeley and thinking about some of the other avenues to covering their bases I still think there's a lot to like about the hire and I'm curious to learn more about Richard Seeley and see how the front office duties are going to shake out now
The other talking point, there's a couple of other talking points, really, around this hire and around the Canucks front office right now.
One is the experience question.
And, of course, related to that is the budget issue, right?
Just the idea of how much money exactly, how much financial freedom does Ryan Johnson have to build out his front office?
Does that extend to the coaching staff?
