So we're finally here at the end of a journey we started over a year ago.
It was actually before that.
But who's counting?
I don't know, maybe that one fan who left a review that said, I like this show, but I never know when the next episode is going to come out.
In any case, we've come a long way since Deadheads was just one of the many ideas that we had bouncing around in our heads and in about 850,000 unfinished Google Docs.
What a long, strange trip it's been.
But maybe not the one you were expecting, because this is not a story about two people getting out of debt.
This is a story about two people who are still in debt.
So in light of this sad fact, we realize there's just one thing left to do.
It's time to find religion.
I have been writing about debt for nearly four years, but I am still in debt.
It just feels so... So I went to church to ask, can I be forgiven?
If I just admitted that I was a consumerizing little shops-too-much sinner, could I be welcomed back into society?
Fortunately, there was a path forward.
But it will require a big change.
Just kidding, I didn't go to church.
I went to Joe's Pub in New York's Greenwich Village to see a fake religious choir led by a fake reverend singing satirical songs about how consumerism is killing us.
But after listening to the songs of Reverend Billy and the Stop Shopping Choir, ironically, I had a not-fake religious awakening.
Rest assured, we do have a final statement to make.
