Instead, I made a decision as I became an adult to say, you know what, enough's been taken from me.
I was robbed of enough and that's not going to serve me.
Staying in that victimhood, staying in that sense of me being, oh, woe is me to the world.
It wasn't going to serve me.
It wasn't going to serve my community.
It certainly wouldn't have served my family.
And so I just, I wonder where we are now as a society empowering our young people who have been through whatever trauma they might have been through, small or great, overcome it.
Where's the emphasis on how we collectively overcome?
Because I'm telling you now, I'm so much more powerful having gone through it.
He took nothing from me.
Well, I certainly don't think that making them feel like an eternal victim will fix anything.
No, definitely.
This is where I go back to the mental game.
You know, one of the progressive feminist DEI type statement that I hear everywhere and it really bothers me is that you can't be what you can't see.
And so they've got this whole thing about they often say it when they're looking for gender quotas and things and, you know, a female politician or a female person in the media or whatever it is, a leadership position, you know, we can't be what we can't say.
I'm like, no, no, no, that's a stupid saying.
If you think you can or you can't, you're always right.
So I reckon we just need to go back and empower young people.
You can be anything.
