The thing that people like you and I need to do, Sam, and for anyone else out there that's on the right side of politics with a voice and a platform on any form of influence, we really, really have to educate the public on how to work within the preferential system.
Because I know a lot of people who told me last year – I've got a really big family, one of my sisters –
um she said oh yeah i voted i voted for pauline hansen i was like you did what i was really surprised because this particular sister um she's my dad's biological daughter um and he's indigenous to my stepmom's side is indigenous so i've got like brothers and sisters that identify as indigenous and so that would be the the classic you know why would she vote for pauline hansen right just goes to show you can't listen to everything the mass media says
But then, you know, when I said, right, so who did you preference?
She goes, I don't know.
Did the other numbers matter?
I was like, okay, so that's exactly what takes place, right?
People will put a one for One Nation and then go in the rest of the boxes.
Yeah, or they just don't realize how it works.
Some other people explained to me they thought that if your number one gets scratched, that maybe like 80% of your vote goes to the next person and then 60% and then 40% type of thing.
And I was like, no, the full weight of your vote goes down.
The full weight of your vote can go to number five on your list.
depending on who you're, if you've just done donkey votes on your first few or whatever.
So unfortunately, and this is something for anyone out there who is considering voting One Nation at state or federal elections, when you do your preferential voting, please know all of them matter.
And you need to be putting Labor Greens and Teals in those bottom boxes.
Because at last year's federal election in May of 2025, of the people who voted one for One Nation,
