I've dealt with some injuries the past few years.
I lost my father last year and just real life things happen and you have to find a way to support yourself and not getting many opportunities to be visibly seen sponsors not wanting to invest in you as you get older and
dealing with injuries and you kind of you feel that pressure so i feel for me later on it's been a lot harder and then it's like you know i'm 31 now that i want to think long term in my life not just the tennis space and what i want to do there but how am i going to set myself up for life and
you just start thinking about things in a different perspective, which becomes even more harder, honestly, to focus on just playing tennis on the court, because then you're like, how am I going to support this and that?
And, you know, I've definitely struggled with that.
And it's been hard to really bounce back from that.
all of these obstacles.
But like Hamish has said, you just unfortunately have to start making sacrifices in areas and then kind of hope that you can gain some traction.
But yeah, I've been a little bit of at a standstill for quite some time now.
I've played, fortunately, all four, but I'm from New York, so US Open is a special place to me, just in my backyard.
And my best result was in 2021, where I did qualify on my own for the first time, ended up losing to Iga on grandstand first round.
And the other time I played main draw was against Caroline Wozniacki on Ash.
Tough choice.
Those are tough choices.
Yeah, I know they couldn't catch me a break like the local girls just getting tough, tough draws.
But that's also part of it, too, like luck of the draw.
You know, you get a little break and that can change your career, the prize money.
But yeah, U.S.
Open is very electric.
You know, I love playing here.
