But the story that we tell ourselves about the struggle, about what happens to us, is where real suffering is.
And that, like you said, is where you have control to rewrite that narrative, to rewrite
who you are because of it or in spite of it or all of those things.
And, you know, that's a gift that you can give people.
My first marriage.
I was very, you know, going into writing this memoir in particular, I just, this was not this, I wanted to be really conscious of not hurting anyone.
This is my story.
This is the purpose is to show my evolution and sort of the things that I've been through.
And this is not a takedown of anybody in that process.
And so in writing about my first marriage, I was really conscious about
speaking honestly and openly, but also making sure that I was taking in as much as I could his reality and his perspective.
And it really allowed me to have a lot of healing around that and a lot of forgiveness for him and grace for him and love for him.
Like,
remembering like but we really loved each other yeah it was not a good relationship and we were young and not a match in very many ways but it wasn't because we didn't we didn't try like we did the best we could and it was toxic as it gets and we both made a lot of mistakes but we loved each other and so I don't know to be able to kind of
continue to move through my life without feeling like there's that right.
Like it's not a weight.
Yeah.
Or like, or no shame around that either, you know, and just being like, it happened and it, and we were doing the best we could in that moment.
It was not what I expected to happen.
And I was, I was grateful for it.
