So that that's actually what kind of pulled me into the whole pandemic stuff.
But mostly it's been China.
Yeah.
I think it's a huge deal, but if I may, let's do a little bit of historic perspective here.
Because I think it's very easy in our crazy news cycle to forget where we've come from.
I started by saying we had this 95-5 issue, which was basically we just believe that China is becoming a democracy and we're going to get rich by helping them do so.
It was really only in 2016, or past 2016, and we're looking at 2018, when President Trump
in his first administration, introduced these tariffs.
In my estimation, this was really the first time in this engagement reality that we had created over decades with Communist China that the Chinese Communist Party was effectively forced into doing something it didn't expressly want.
It was all supposed to be a partnership and win-win, but it really was just
the Chinese getting their way maximally all the way across.
They just simply because they don't believe in win-win, right?
They would only accept the things where they were the massive winner and the US was loser and the right people got paid off in effect.
I'm being a little bit glib, but that's how it played for so long.
We built the world's biggest dictatorship on American money, American
intellectual property and on and on and on.
But suddenly this shifted.
I just had Peter Navarro on the show.
That's how I knew that President Trump or candidate Trump was serious about China.
He tapped a guy who wrote the book Death by China and really is going to stick to his guns against whatever.
