So they always have class enemies.
There's always at least one group in China which has designated a class enemy.
Landowners were the first one, right?
They wanted to seize people's land, but then they had to convince the population to do it.
So they pushed this mass dehumanizing propaganda out against the group, against the landowners.
They seized their land.
They conditioned the population to be used to this group of being harmed, but also educated the population about what will happen to you
if you step on the wrong side of the regime.
And they've done this again and again and again with different groups, rightists, intellectuals.
In 1999, Falun Gong practitioners, Uyghurs, right?
I'm using saying Falun Gong practitioners because they built
the whole organ industry on the backs of this mass incarceration of Falun Gong practitioners back in the early 2000s.
But my point is, this is not, as they say, it's a feature, not a bug of the system.
They need this.
They need a population that understands that the regime is supreme and behaves that way either by
real conviction or at least performatively out of fear.
And that's the Chinese population today.
They've been conditioned over decades in this matter.
It's integral.
