So Microsoft was a good groundbreaker for that.

In Silicon Valley, I did a lot of startups, which meant I wore a lot of hats.

So I got to learn a lot about different parts of the business, marketing, product management, program management, PR, you know, like, and so that was good grounding.

It helped me hone in on what I was good at and what I liked as well as, you know, just get me grounded in what these departments have to do.

And I think my first learning on stakeholder was completely by accident, because when I was a small company that doesn't exist anymore in Silicon Valley, they I came in.

It was a bit of a recession and I just couldn't find a job.

And so they hired me to work the front desk.

But they promised me that I would do work for the marketing guy and get to do things.

And as the company grew, they would.

And it was a risk, but I needed to work.

And they were true to their word and they threw me at various marketing and PR projects.

And I must have done okay because six months in, he said, hey, we're going to promote you to a program manager and we're going to hire a full-time receptionist.

Great.

Wonderful.

First job, go build a beta program.

You got it.

Walk out of the room.

Like I literally was like now the good news is I had built relationships as a small company with the engineering team and we had kind of bonded and we pulled a lot of late nights because I was doing a lot of different tasks.
