I was like, guys, I only missed a few weeks.
When I was singing in the bars, my name is Jan Arden Richards.
It's my whole name.
My mom named me after a cartoon strip called Jane Arden.
It ran from about 1936 till the late 60s, I think, the cartoon strip ran.
And Jane Arden, my mom did not like Jane, so she stuck another N on and called me Jan Arden.
Fast forward, met my manager, Neil McGonigal, at the time.
It was the late, mid-80s.
And I had been singing in the bars under Jan Richards.
And one day at one of our weekly meetings, he said to me, what's your middle name?
And he goes, that's great.
You're going to be Jan Arden from now on.
So that was Neil's doing.
And he said, it's going to great alphabetical order.
If any of you remember going into record stores back in the day, all your vinyl, all your discs were alphabetical order.
