And the only place you see the tree of life specifically is in Genesis.

Well, then you see it in Revelation at the end where he starts talking about a new heaven and a new earth, and here's the tree of life again.

And then in Proverbs it's used because that's the wisdom chapter.

But I would say that the cross of Jesus became in a way the tree of life again because of who was on it.

Because by his death, then resurrection, life is now available.

So when you go to Romans 8 and you read, this is so interesting, the wording of this.

It's kind of mind-blowing.

And for years, I never could understand this.

But in verse 9 of Romans 8, it says, You, however, are not controlled by the sinful nature or the flesh, but by the Spirit.

So at this point, you think, oh, the flesh is bad, and we're back to this Gnosticism.

Oh, God, see, he sends his Spirit because your body's bad.

But just keep reading.

And it says you're controlled by the Spirit if the Spirit of God lives in you.
