I've never really give Space 1999 much of a look, despite the fact that lead Martin Landau is one of those genuinely impressive, I think he's good in everything sort of actors.
And I know they made an effort with budget and storylines and such.
uh so apparently the mac versus pc debate of the late 1970s was whether you were a space 1999 or a blake 7 fan and i fall solidly into the latter camp uh for now some narrow casting blake 7 content i even like some of those third season episodes and think they should have gone further into the dynamics they were establishing there rather than literally and figuratively blowing everything up for the reboot for the final season
Would anybody else care to take sides in Space 1999 versus Blake 7?
The Liberator.
It's got those needles that show you what direction it goes.
Yeah, that's reasonable.
And last but not least, Magical Mike submitted a link to a game that's still in development from the TinyBuild studio and developer Mandragora.
Mandragora's previous game, published in 2024, was I Am Future, Cozy Apocalypse Survival.
And I'm going to say that maybe the cozy concept has gone a little too far when it's preceding words like apocalypse, but this is a vibe that they are very committed to and are bringing to this pre-release title called...
Restory?
Restory?
I think it's sort of meant... Restory!
Chill Electronics Repairs!
To quote directly from their slug on Steam, "...run a quaint electronics repair shop in mid-2000s Tokyo.
Grow your business by carefully restoring iconic video game consoles, cell phones, music players, and other nostalgic devices.
Talk to customers, hear their stories, and see how your decisions impact both their lives and your shop."
It appears from the preview videos on offer that the game has rebadged versions of various tech devices, obscuring brands like Sony and Nokia, even though we can clearly recognize their products.
But the Atari logo and branded Atari products like the 2600 console and the CX40 joystick are very clearly shown and named as such.
So presumably there is some sort of license deal going on there.
