And I think just sheltering them and keeping them away, it didn't do them justice.
It almost presented it as,
The media are here to get you.
They're not going to be your friend.
They're not going to, you know, they're going to make you shine a negative light on you.
And I think in 99% of the cases, if you go through the media, I think it's fair critique and criticism, and it's certainly shedding light on the good things and shedding light on things that could be made better as players, right?
And I think if you kind of take that approach of criticism
You know, I'm going to be there and put myself out there and not be overexposed, but allow myself to be part of that process.
It's a good thing.
And I just think back to when I got into the business, when, you know, the Mattson Deans and all these guys were coming up.
it was much more open approach.
And good or bad, they would address the media 82 times a year.
They would walk out there and they would say their bid and they'd move on.
And we all kind of respected that and understood that.
And when you shelter the players from that, I'm not sure you're doing them a service.
So I do wonder whether it's McKenna or whoever gets taken first overall, if the Leafs will take a bit of a different approach with how they handle their young players.
