And I was missing out on the life that I really dreamed of, the things that I actually liked in life and the things that I wanted to experience for so long.
I was holding my own self back from those experiences because of this prideful nature of, I can't let him know that we like the same thing.
But when I think about the prodigal son, I think about, um,
the younger son, you know, he asked the father for his inheritance, which he really shouldn't have even gotten because in that time, contextually, the younger son didn't get an inheritance.
So the father was just being gracious by even giving him anything.
And so he wanted independence, but his immaturity led him to a place of ruin, really.
And what the father did was the father honored his request and he said, okay, I'll let you have this.
And
The father wanted to instruct him and guide him on how to live in these situations.
But when you refuse to learn through the father's instruction, you will be forced to learn through a life experience.
That's what I have learned in my own life.
When God is trying to guide you and instruct you on how to do certain things and you just refuse to listen at that point, he has to be a good parent.
I mean, I'm sure, as you know, and say, I tried to guide you as best I can.
Now you're going to have to allow life to teach you since you didn't allow me to.
That's the pit.
That's the pit because you're experiencing a side of life that you could have avoided.
And it's typically stuff that you want to avoid.
Some things you need to learn on your own, but a lot of times,
parents are trying to protect you and the child sees it as you're trying to restrict me from doing certain things so what should have been seen as protection he saw as no you're trying to prevent me from doing this so yeah yeah I think I'm I'm still there with
you know why they don't sell shirts that say I'm prideful?
