I mean, they're like a 95-win team since Adley Rutschman was called up May 21st of 2022.
And they were really bad a couple years.
You don't really need to go back three years.
I mean, they were only Kansas City and Detroit had fewer wins than the Orioles in the American League.
on the day that Adley was called up.
They were, I believe, 16-24.
So you can go back a little over a calendar year and still find them being a pretty marginal baseball operation in terms of the major league level.
Now the foundation had been well in place in terms of establishing this pipeline of guys who were either pretty much ready and just tap them and call them up or getting darn close to being
major league-ready, and that's continued to build in a ridiculously robust manner, especially if you want to compare them to the Tigers and the Royals, right?
Because that's where they were a calendar year ago, although Detroit's played much better ball in May than they did in April.
And they've become an incredibly athletic baseball team.
They...
have become one of the most patient attacks in the league.
Not that they can't score quickly, but you look at their team on base percentage, and you look, by and large, at every individual who contributes offensively on a regular basis.
With the exception of Jorge Mateo, they're getting on base at a clip that any team would aspire to.
