There was some momentum here that something was going to start happening.

And so I think he was like, I'm just going to go all in.

I'm convinced from all my contacts that there's a push here for something to happen.

And so I think he was just like, right, I'm going to accelerate my project and I'm going to go and reach out to everyone I can.

And he presented his ideas in a way knowing that they were probably already working on this stuff.

and uh got access and i think that his uh you know his pitch ultimately he probably i don't want to claim he deceived them but you know he was promoting himself as like the world's biggest rock star with access to the entire youth and i think these people are aerospace experts they're not media people they're they're intelligence experts they're not people who understand

you know, the young population.

And so they bought into it.

And in reality, DeLong was overstretching and the plan, they barely raised any money and the reach of the books has been frankly very minimal, but the total impact of it has been good.

But I don't think that the plan to disseminate these ideas to the youth, which was what he was proposing,

really worked, which to me is a sign that this wasn't some huge conspiracy.

It was just an idea that didn't go that well.

And DeLonge certainly had a lot of different advisors, by the way.

I would say that it seems to me that the people advising him didn't even agree with each other because you have the likes of Jim Semivar and Chris Mellon were looking at some of the things that the four stars, the four star admiral, who we don't know exactly who it is, might have been Inman.

I don't know, Bobby Ray Inman.

But then you also have General Michael Hayden, who's a four star.

And they're saying things to Tom that...

seems more like a sort of a mythological Hollywood version of the stuff designed to engage people, less maybe designed to be very, very factual.

And so Malin and Samivan are like, why are they talking like this?

And Valet's looking at it being like, I can't be involved in this.
