Like, I've been reporting from here for a long time.
I've never once seen a settler get detained, get questioned, get arrested, anything like that.
You know, there's no way to spend time in the West Bank and not have encounters with IDF soldiers, and you encounter all different types of them.
There's the just sort of straight-up, raving, racist, genocidal types.
This guy, I actually genuinely believe him that he was completely ignorant about all those things.
I mean...
A lot of these IDF soldiers think they're in Israel.
They don't know that the West Bank is not Israel.
They don't actually know what an occupation is.
If it wasn't clear,
He was trying to tell me, so he's acknowledging they shouldn't have attacked you.
Like, okay, thank you so much for that.
What he's saying though is, I don't think you're right that this is area A, and I don't think you're right that that's a Palestinian home that they're living in.
I know I'm right.
Like, this is not debatable.
It's insane that a soldier who works in this area wouldn't know that.
It should be insane, but it's not because what they are there to do is protect the settlers.
